Tom Molen is a seasoned executive and consultant who has left a lasting impact on the entertainment and media sectors. Starting at Paramount Pictures, he excelled as an executive mastering the intricacies of distribution strategies. With increasing demand for his expertise, he transitioned into consulting, collaborating with industry giants like the US Army, P&G, NBC Universal, X (Twitter), and Unilever.
His experience as a consultant, producer, entrepreneur, and strategist has kept Tom at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry at a time when adaptability is critical. His latest venture, Afterglow Media Group, epitomizes this deep-rooted expertise, offering specialized media services that deliver impactful results for clients. In addition to his professional feats, Tom champions diversity and inclusion in the media world. His leadership manifests in effective strategic planning and an innate ability to foster collaboration among stakeholders. Eric ShermanA media and entertainment veteran, Eric was at the forefront of developing new cable networks such as MTV2 and VH1 Classic at Viacom, Fuse at Madison Square Garden, and Veria Living for Zee Media in India as well as managing A-list celebrity talent to new heights in their careers. His decades of experience in brand expansion have given him unique insight into understanding a brand's core value, helping it stand out in a crowded marketplace and creating new and meaningful revenue streams.
In addition to his work with Afterglow Media, Eric is Chief Development Officer of woman focused media and production firm SegalNYC and a talent manager in partnership with RedLight Management. Sherman's roster of clients has included Mötley Crüe, Poison, Blondie, and Steven Tyler. He secured Tyler his position of judge on American Idol and guided his autobiography "Does the Noise In My Head Bother You" to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. He served as executive producer for the documentary "Mötley Crüe: The Road to MSG" for which he was awarded an Emmy in 2010. |
Jim BalbirerA 16 year veteran of Viacom, James (Jim) Balbirer most recently served as Executive Vice President, Client and Business Development for Viacom Media Networks Ad Sales. In this role, Jim oversaw Viacom's client facing sales people who are integral to the company's advertising revenue generation as well as its crucial client relationships. Jim presided over the company's overall client strategy process for both upfront and scatter preparation as well as the company's ongoing revenue garnering efforts with respect to Viacom's 168 largest accounts, comprising 85% of their revenue. Jim also oversaw Viacom's new business development efforts; in 2004, Jim conceived and launched the VH1 New Business Development team, which was the first New Business Development Group at Viacom. Over the years, Jim's role expanded as he assumed the responsibility of leading new business development efforts across all of Viacom's properties. Jim also had a vital role in forging the groundbreaking relationship between Viacom and and the UFC MMA in 2003 as well as Bellator MMA in 2010, in which Viacom would purchase a majority ownership stake. As a result of his comprehensive experience across several disciplines, Jim has tentacles and relationships which span the entire media spectrum. Prior to joining Viacom, Jim worked as an Account Executive on the international side of Turner Broadcasting, CNBC International and internet startup, Phase2Media. Jim graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism and a minor concentration in foreign languages. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma national academic honor societies.
